House Building!
We listened to the story of the 3 little pigs. In the versions we shared the pigs used different materials to create different house. We talked about what materials would make a good house and thought about how we could design our own house to live in. Mrs Clarke was so pleased with our work that she knows where to come when she needs a new house or some renovation work!!

Autumn Necklace
Mrs Clarke has been very impressed with how carefully we used sharp equipment such as screwdrivers and corkscrews with care to make holes in conkers, bark, conker cases and leaves. We then carefully cut string to the length we wanted and threaded the things we had picked onto the string. We then tied the string together to make a necklace. Mrs Walsh and Mr Santy even stopped by to help!

Busy Afternoon
Mrs Clarke was really pleased with our learning this afternoon.
We have been practicing our fine motor skills on our finger gym table.
Sorting Materials
We sorted lots of materials according to what they were made from with Mrs Clarke.
We decided wood, cardboard and metal would not make a good window.
We thought glass would be best for Windows but that plastic was also good as it would not break.
Ellie thought plastic would be good for a dolls house window.
Brandon thought metal would be good to chop wood but that the aluminium tray would not be strong enough.
George thought some metals would be good to chop food.
Florence thought ceramics could break if we dropped them but said they would be good for holding hot water.
Ebony and a Daisy both thought plastic would be a good material for drinking out of.
Amelia suggested plastic tubs would be good for keeping sandwiches in.
So many different materials around us.
Sam explained that a plastic pot would be useful for keeping things together and that we can see through it to see what is stored.
Ellie said there are many things we can use plastic for because it changes!
We thought about using one material for everything.
Brandon suggested metal as a metal window wouldn't smash but we decided it wouldn't be good to see through. We thought metal wouldn't be very flexible.
Sam suggested using plastic for everything. But then decided it wouldn't be good to cook with as it could melt.
We thought we could use ice as a window but Ellie said it would melt in the sunshine.
