Our year 1 children have been looking at maps in their maths lesson. They had a map of China with landmarks on. They had to draw a route from one landmark to another then talk about the route they had made. They had to use language such as right, left, up and down to explain how they had got from one landmark to another. They also discovered that there was more than one way to travel between the different landmarks.
